National Chartered Surveying firm Bruton Knowles has announced that William Matthews will take on a new Agency Faculty Head position. This strategic move aligns with the firm’s plans to build on a market-leading reputation that has driven business growth over the last 12 months and ensured continued delivery of high-quality, specialist services to its national client base.

William Matthews, a Senior Associate within Bruton Knowles’ Land Development and Planning Team, steps into this role at a pivotal time for the business. Over the past year, the firm has undergone significant expansion, including the acquisition of commercial property specialists Haarer Goss and the launch of its 14th UK Hub in Bury St Edmunds to cover its East Anglia based client portfolio.

In his new role, he will oversee acquisitions and disposal, the development of technical expertise, regulatory compliance, and skill-based training across the firm’s national hub network. His leadership will be instrumental in enhancing Bruton Knowles’ market intelligence and operational efficiency, ensuring the firm remains at the forefront of industry developments and client service excellence.

Bruton Knowles has seen an uptick in client acquisitions across multiple National Teams, including its Valuation, Commercial, Planning & Development and Utilities & Infrastructure divisions. The firm’s ability to attract and retain top-tier talent, while investing in its leadership structure, has been key to its continued success in a competitive marketplace.

James Bailey, Managing Partner at Bruton Knowles, said: “As demand for our services continues to rise, we are doubling down on our commitment to expertise, innovation, and service excellence. William has been an integral part of Bruton Knowles for over a decade, since joining as a Graduate Surveyor, earning a reputation as a respected and forward-thinking professional. His appointment as Faculty Head is a strategic move to ensure our teams remain aligned with the latest market developments and regulatory changes, while continuing to deliver industry-leading services.”

William comments: “I’m grateful to be given the opportunity to continue to grow within a company that was the starting point of my professional journey.

“Over the past decade, I’ve witnessed Bruton Knowles’ growth and transformation, and it’s incredibly exciting to be welcomed into a position where I’ll play a much bigger role in driving the business forward while working closely with the wider team.”

William succeeds previous Agency Faculty Head, Sam Spencer, who remains in a senior role at the business, focusing on key clients and specialist sectors whilst scaling down his time at the firm.

Bruton Knowles is one of the UK’s longest established national surveyor brands, offering multi-disciplinary expertise across local and national markets. The firm’s National Teams – including Valuation, Commercial, and Utilities & Infrastructure – are supported by a robust network of Building Consultancy, Land Development, and Rural Services divisions.
