National Chartered Surveyor firm Bruton Knowles has re-opened its office in Taunton, Somerset - the 13th base in the UK – a move which will allow for further expansion in the South West and put the organisation in a geographically stronger position to service its clients.
The new office, located in Bathpool, Taunton, will be continuing the development of the Utilities and Infrastructure Team, many of whom are based in the area.
The company’s Work Your Way scheme allows employees to work from anywhere, and the re-opening of the Taunton office gives them a facility to work with their colleagues.
This follows the recent opening of their office in Wimborne, Dorset, which provided the firm with close proximity to its new client base for on-the-doorstep service.
Andrew Sellick, Senior Associate at Bruton Knowles, is head of the newly-formed Taunton office, and has been on a nine-year career path with the firm after first completing a placement year in 2003/4 and rejoining later in 2014.
Andrew oversees a team of chartered surveyors heading up the Hinkley Point Connection Project, between Bridgwater and Avonmouth in the South West, which is one of the larger development consent orders alongside working with other regional utility companies.
He commented: “We have a strong presence in the Utilities and Infrastructure sector, both nationally and across the South West. Therefore, the re-opening of this office provides us with a platform to service a wider area in this location and give our clients what they need.
“In terms of the future, we want to continue to develop and grow our Utilities and Infrastructure service, with an eye on renewables and energy, a growing market that we are well placed to meet the needs of.”
James Bailey, Managing Partner at Bruton Knowles, added: “The post pandemic re-opening of Taunton gives us an increased presence in the South West. Our National Utilities & Infrastructure team has performed exceptionally well this year. U&I South is expanding massively under the leadership of Gill Froud, who has brought a range of new business to the company. We now need more static bases for team members to operate from, which includes not only Taunton but across the rest of the country.”
The office’s purpose shifts away from that of the original Taunton branch, dating back to the 1990’s, when it focused on estates management. Now, Utilities and Infrastructure will be the main driver for the site, an opening which was delayed as a result of the pandemic.
