National Chartered Surveyor firm, Bruton Knowles, has secured a recent bid win through its re-appointment to a Land Services Framework that enables Cadent, the UK’s largest gas distribution network, to deliver vital infrastructure services across four regions of the country.
This is the second time Bruton Knowles’ National Utilities and Infrastructure Team has secured a place on the Land Service Framework. The firm is one of 5 selected to deliver all services across all regions over a 4-to-6-year period.
Framework agreements are commonplace across public sector bodies and other organisations, such as Cadent, which are overseen by National Regulatory Authorities that operate as non-ministerial Government departments.
They reduce procurement costs and internal resources; ensure suppliers have been appropriately vetted to deliver value for money; offer a transparent approach to doing business with the private sector; and enable long-term relationships to be established between buyers and suppliers, landowners and stakeholders.
Bruton Knowles was selected following a competitive tender process and will be supporting Cadent to deliver consents, planning permissions and land rights across its Northwest England, West Midlands, East of England, and North London regions. The firm is also appointed to provide specialist valuation services across all regions.
Cadent is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of gas in some of the UK’s largest and most densely populated cities, such as London, Birmingham, and Manchester.
It recently launched its first Social Impact Strategy which set out how greener choices will ensure decarbonisation across the network as the switch to hydrogen is made.
With new sustainable energy measures having been announced in the Queen’s speech 2022, this is timely, and shows the momentum towards a low carbon economy is gaining pace.
Bruton Knowles is well placed to deliver expertise in this area to clients like Cadent, because its team of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ (RICS) accredited staff ensure responsible practice and follow the very latest professional standards on sustainability.
Bill Simms, Partner at Bruton Knowles and Joint Head of the National Utilities and Infrastructure Team, commented: “We’re delighted to have once again been selected to join Cadent’s framework as one of its key delivery partners.
“Our National Utilities and Infrastructure Team is highly skilled, with extensive knowledge and technical expertise. We look forward to helping Cadent to progress its plans towards a more sustainable future.
“Recent events in Europe and the cost-of-living crisis have highlighted the need for energy security and viable alternatives. It is a very important time for the sector as it continues to develop its homegrown power capabilities. The surveying profession is well placed to support in this transition as a key enabler in the process.”
Bruton Knowles offers a streamlined approach for its clients through four National Teams - Valuation, Commercial, Utilities & Infrastructure and Building Consultancy. These were introduced across the business in 2020 and 2021 to provide a single point of contact for the delivery of an entire client project to the highest possible standards.
National Teams have been significant for Bruton Knowles because they built on the firm’s sector strengths and responded to changing market needs. They have consolidated Bruton Knowles’ position as one of the best-known property consultancy brands in the UK.
